Had a fabulous weekend deal at this beautiful 1840's hotel. Huge en-suite rooms, library with hundreds of books, reading room etc, beautiful grounds and landscapes, Food to die for and plenty choice. A very well stocked bar and fantastic friendly staff who really put themselves out for you. Looking forward to our next visit in the very near future More

We spent a Valentine's Day break here. The castle has some lovely rooms especially the library and the bar with a nice selection of malts. The food was fabulous mainly local seafood of course being on the banks of Loch Fyne. Its a great location to go travelling along the Kintyre Peninsular. The staff wee very friendly indeed. The view... More

Lovely castle with superb views. Common areas and, what I read also the rooms in main building, are nice and what you expect from the pictures. We stayed in cheaper rooms in the annex and they are really, really worn out and are screaming to be refurbished. Bathroom was cheap US motel level. Beds were good and surroundings made up... More

We stayed at the hotel on Friday the 27th of Jan with a few work colleagues; from the moment we landed we were greeted by the assistant manager who made us very welcome. The hotel is a magnificent period building with the usual feel of an old building of that age, the rooms were large and made you feel as... More

1 night stay with group of friends, lovely castle, great views. Dinner and breakfast were good quality, rooms were very nice, warm, clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Accessible and dog friendly, would be a great wedding venue. I would recommend this hotel. More

My husband and I stayed here over a year ago and I just realized that I had yet to review it. It is a decent castle hotel right outside of a little town in Scotland. We were there in late Feb so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. The staff was minimal, but they were attentive. The food... More

I stayed two nights at the castle for a wedding. Luckily we were booked into a castle room (quite pricey) which was very tradtional and comfortable, large bed, large bathroom with bath and shower. After seeing other guest's rooms i wasn't impressed, they were dark and dingy with little character and in need of work. On the first morning i... More

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Please accept my apologies for the problem with the shower and the response you received from my receptionist. Where we are at fault I am happy to make amends and wish you had bought these issues to my attention during your stay. I must however dispute your comments on the... More

We found this hotel to be a wonderful experience – we actually listed the stay at Stonefield our favourite place of our entire trip. We had a lock view room which was very clean and comfortable and the staff could not have done any more for us. The food was fabulous and the views well they speak for themselves! Beautiful... More

Severe falling from grace compared to same time last year. General feeling of post-new year blues.Manager was checking his bar stock when we went into the bar and had to be asked kindly to turn round to take our order. After our modest meal in an almost empty dining room,we asked for coffee in the lounge and were served 1/2cup... More
