We loved our stay here. We were in two minds about having dinner in the castle, but are glad we did. The food was excellent despite some of the reviews we had read. The food was very fresh and perfectly cooked. The castle has lots of lounges and places to sit and enjoy a tea or a drink. A good... More

Old building so some tired edges but great location and the view from the dining room is special. Staff are welcoming and most of the food is excellent especially breakfast. I say most for the chips were droopy and disappointing. One tip is to not leave your bath/shower till late at night because the water may not be hot enough.... More

After a wonderful drive from Edinburgh via Oban we were ready for this experience. The drive from Oban was spectacular in the late afternoon on cool crispy fall day.the Brownfield welcomes you with quite a view. All we say was"wow". The hostess was really friendly and assisted us with our check in. We asked about the evening meal and the... More

Some time since we last visited. Much work has gone into the landscaping, and the flowering rhododendrons are spectacular at this time of year. Standard of service still very friendly and can-do, and the quality of catering could not be faulted. Our visit coincided with a mass booking of a tour group, but whereas at other hotels attention in these... More

Top marks for location, views, atmospheric interior and rooms. The walks around the surrounding shorelines and hills were particularly special. However the restaurant was a huge let-down: meat served at dinner was dry & lukewarm while the cooked breakfast was as far from 'freshly cooked' as is possible, and the eggs benedict swam in a dishful of watery liquid. 'Award-winning'?... More

We got married here on June 2nd 2012 and cannot speak highly enough of the location, the staff and the venue. We had 110 guests at the wedding and many have stated it was the best wedding venue they'd ever been to. A beautiful setting overlooking the water in a secluded forest setting made it feel like our own little... More

This hotel was once a castle and all of the reception rooms still retain that feeling. There is oak paneling everywhere and log fires in the grates. The chairs are comfortable and the views are lovely. The dining room really has that 'wow' factor. it is a modern extension with wonderful views over the loch and we were treated to a... More

We arrived in the middle of one of the worst snowstorms of the winter. Shortly after arriving the electricity went off. We can't praise the staff highly enough for the way they dealt with the situation,,,,calmly and efficiently...Fiona and Sean especially. Apart from that the hotel was spotless , the welcome we got, the food and service excellent. Will definitely... More
