We had only booked one night as we had stayed in Devon the night before. This gem of a find is well worth travelling to, a little out of the way but do not let it deter you from visiting. Staff cannot do enough for you. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. Food is excellent with a good range of... More

Lovely old thatched inn, circa 13th century with bags of character. We had a great modernized room, very large and comfortable, and easy to access from the rear courtyard without tramping through the bar in muddy boots. Big bathroom, great hot/pressure shower. Bathroom accessories provided. Good size bed. Loads of space to spread out, including a walk in robe. Good... More

We stayd at the New Inn for two nights in The Hayloft suite. A very big room with a great double bed, a sitting room with television and a ensuite bathroom. The bathroom had a nice big bath. The room was equiped with coffee/tea/water/biscuits and a lot of magazines. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was very welcoming. We... More

I wasn't sure what it would be like because the pub is a bit out of the way but it really is a 'diamond in the rough'. It's definitely worth travelling to as the ambience is good, nice customers and friendly and welcoming staff. Not too over powering but there to ensure you enjoy your visit. Food was excellent. As... I've stayed here a few times now, always on business yet to have a bad experience. If you are expecting Holiday Inn/chain hotel like facilities then you will be disappointed but if you want a good, local stay then this could be just the place for you. Accomodation in 1 of the 7 bedrooms all of which seem to be... More

What a great weekend. This lovely place manages to combine quaint charm with spacious comfy rooms . The food is great and the landlord and landlady friendly -- nothing was too much trouble for them. Spot on and highly recommended,

We wanted somewhere to stay for a couple of nights, whilst visiting Dartmoor, and the surrounding area, and picked this lovely pub at random. Greeted like long term regulars by George, and shown to our room that was spacious, and luxurious, with a view of the small stream that runs passed the pub. This thatched inn is picturesque on the... Again we've had our 4 wonderful days stay at at The New Inn, Fantastic food, beautifully prepared and presented. Quality never falters! Good beer. Friendly staff, Pretty rooms with fabulous beds, more like sleeping on a cloud! Clean fluffy towels each day which add to ones' feelings of being spoilt. Carol & George certainly have the knack of making you... More

We stayed here over the Easter bank holiday for one night and it was fabulous. The room was lovely, spacious and clean and very quiet. The pub food was fantastic - you need to book as it is very popular but the food was delicious. The landlord and landlady were very friendly, even let us borrow a DVD for after... More

Well-maintained old thatched inn in pretty Devon village where a friendly welcome always awaits from George, Carol, their staff and parrot. There is a varied menu of well-cooked local food and a fully stocked bar. Regulars and visitors receive the same high standard
