Rooms are large, well decorated and kept clean. Pleasant reception staff. Breakfast was large buffet but cooked stuff usually warm at best. Choice of hotels in Semporna is not great. We found that most people come to Semporna to leave to the islands. Our budget could not stretch to the £100 each per night minimum so we chose to stay in the Seafest by the waterfront. This hotel is located right on the seafront away from the unpleasant town centre. The room I had was quite big, it had air-con and the wifi just about worked. Simply the best in town - all others are shabby by comparison. Bagged a room for RM 99 which was an absolute bargain for nice large room with carpet, AC, cable tv including UK football, nice bathroom etc. Restaurant does nice food but if you want a beer you have to goto drinking bars next door.
