Hotel is a good value alternative to staying in the off shore resorts, and is probably the best alternative to other hotels or backpackers' lodge in town. Depending on who you dive with, a few jetties are just a stone's throw away. more

There isn't a lot of choice in Semporna. This hotel is just about at the B&B standard that I'd expect in the UK. Old, a little bit tired, but clean enough. Wouldn't recommend it other than for uncertainty about the other options. Taxi from Tawu airport was RM95.00, and took an hour. more

We stayed at the Seafest for 5 nights while we were visiting Semporna to do some scuba diving. It has all the trimmings you'd expect from a 3 star business hotel with the greatest benefit being the outdoor pool on the 3rd floor with views over the harbour out to sea. However, as with all business hotels, it isn't particularly... more

Nice enough - clean and tidy - best place in Semporna by some margin. Room was clean and good sized for £20 a night. Stayed here for one night before transfer to Mabul Island. more

Rooms are large, well decorated and kept clean. Pleasant reception staff. Breakfast was large buffet but cooked stuff usually warm at best. Several times failed to get breakfast ready for 7am (bit of a pain when wanting an early feed before going diving). Main restaurant seemed very expensive and hardly anyone seemed to eat there. There is a pleasant outside... more

Seafest hotel review with practical tips on how to best enjoy your stay: Tip #1: Leave your diving knife home. Or you might end up stabbing the hotel manager. Seafest might be the only self acclaimed 3-star hotel in Semporna, but it is still very low class establishment. Best part for us was check-in. It was surprisingly smooth. They did... more

Choice of hotels in Semporna is not great. We found that most people come to Semporna to leave to the islands. Our budget could not stretch to the £100 each per night minimum so we chose to stay in the Seafest by the waterfront. This is marketed as a business class hotel, but would probably be a 3* at best... more

This hotel is worth paying the extra money. If you're hesitating over paying that extra RM, all you have to think about is how crap the other hotels in Semporna are. When we were in Semporna, the majority of the other places of accommodation were ridden with bedbugs, but NOT the Seafest Hotel. We paid RM99 for a large twin... more

This hotel is located right on the seafront away from the unpleasant town centre. The room I had was quite big, it had air-con and the wifi just about worked. The bed was king size and very comfortable. Even though my room was RM99 a night, they wanted RM200 deposit for each night! Breakfast was included, it was a buffet... more

Simply the best in town - all others are shabby by comparison. Bagged a room for RM 99 which was an absolute bargain for nice large room with carpet, AC, cable tv including UK football, nice bathroom etc. Restaurant does nice food but if you want a beer you have to goto drinking bars next door. Seafest cafe, of attached... more
