Grizedale Lodge is located perfectly with easy access to Grizedale forest for walking, cycling, go ape and Segway safari. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and have lovely deep baths which are perfect for a good soak after a long walk. Deb and Richard are excellent hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts are amazing and you don't... More

Thank you for your review. The dog breakfasts are very popular, and towels and dogs treats are what we decided we needed to offer when we used to take our dog away on holiday - as the dog never packed his bag properly! I am glad you enjoyed the Segways - as they are new to Go-Ape and are great... More

This is a real gem, hard working hosts Richard and Deborah were just fantastic, this house has real Lakeland character and is clearly a labour of love for these two.... Furniture pieces are amazing, the lounge with real fire full of charm and the breakfast first class, its so good we only live four miles away and went there for... More

We stayed at the Lodge ( with my wife and little westie Nala) for just one night over the Bank Holiday weekend and was very impressed! As most have said on TA, the location is fantastic and so peaceful, in fact we made a pledge to have no TV, Radio or I-pads for the night and just listen to the... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a review, and for all the kind comments. If staying 1 night has convinced you to want to come back then we are getting things right, and I am pleased you liked the room as that has just been refurbished. I hope to see you both (and Nala) again sometime. All the... More

After such great reviews we decided we would book to stay here for 4 nights. What a fantastic place. Lovely warm welcome with coffee/tea on the terrace overlooking the forest. The room we stayed in was lovely with wonderful views over the forest and a four poster bed. Nice to wake up in the morning and see the beautiful surroundings.... More

I booked Grizedale Lodge for two nights as a present for my partner's 40th birthday. I wanted somewhere relaxing/quiet and that's just what Grizedale Lodge provided. Richard (the owner) was amazing and catered for our every need (especially when I was in trouble for forgetting the toothpaste!). The room we stayed in was a four poster room and it was... More

We stayed at Grizedale Lodge as it was handy for Hawkshead where we were doing the Trail run and the Tripadvisor reviews were so good. We weren't disappointed. The welcome from Richard was very warm and having been shown to our very comfortable room (No 5) we settled down to a very pleasant dinner. We had dinner both nights and... More

We stayed at Grizedale Lodge in April 2013 in a king room. The view was lovely and the decor in the room was attractive, giving it a peaceful and calm atmosphere. The sheets were really good quality and were a delight to sleep in! Good breakfast, friendly (but not intrusive) owners. Right next to Grizedale Forest.
