We arrived early with our back packs and were treated to a much appreciated early check-in (room 8). Our large room had the most comfortable bed, modern, up-market en-suite and fantastic views of the islands and the town. The dining room and entrance lounge are very grand with sweeping views across the water. The whole place harks back to by-gone... More

We stayed at this hotel by chance and what a pleasant surprise. The staff bent over backwards to be courteous and helpful - the young receptionist carried our two heavy suitcases up the stairs to our room. Our room was delightful - high ceilinged and elegant with a view looking out over the sea to Eig, Rum and Skye. We... More

Stayed for one night enroute to Islands. I paid £50 for a tiny single bedded room on 2nd floor( didnt get my breakfast as I was leaving on the early ferry, 7am, and the hotel couldnt give me our breakfast that early) - bed comfortable enough and warm and clean- but decor needs to be smartened up. A hole was... More

we really enjoyed our stay at the West Highland Hotel. It was the only real hotel we stayed in while touring the Highlands and Isle of Skye and we took full advantage of the spacious lounge overlooking the bay, hanging out there and eating a pub dinner. The kind of Scottish music (recorded) that I love was playing which greatly... More

We arrived too late for breakfast, but the friendly owner without hesitation invited us to sit in the bar/lounge, where an equally friendly staff member took our orders and served us with a full Scottish breakfast - they made us feel completely welcome to their hotel. The black pudding was the best - made by the local butcher and superior... More

We’d booked here for two nights as part of our mini break to see the West Highlands and Skye (the other two nights being on the Caledonian Sleeper). The hotel was more or less how we’d imagined, fairly traditional but the staff are friendly and efficient. When we approached it from the station we were struck by how much it... More

This stay at the West Highland Hotel, was very much a last minute decision and we couldn't have been more delighted. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and the owner lit the fire for my Mum and myself to sit by...on the condition that I take charge for keeping it going NO PROBLEM! I had a lovely light...
