Stayed here as part of 7 night Montserrat Paradore route. La Seu d'Urgell feels very local. The Paradore is comfortable. Food was good. Son contracted serious ear infection and was well attended too and treated in local CAP hospital - take your E11 card for free treatment. Close to the old town and the cathedral (Catedral de Santa María), parador La Seu d’Urgell is a very comfortable hotel. The personnel was kind and helpful. A parking is available nearby. From there, you can make daytrips to many nature trails in the Catalan Pyrenees.

The Parador is an interesting mix of new and old. The hotel was built into a 12th century church and convent. They used the old arches that were part of the cloisters to form a sunken lounge area. La Seu was the first of four Parador stops, our first experience with Paradors. Online none had space available, the Spanish site was impossible altho' responsive and apologetic. We found an agent in Ocala, FL who specialized in Paradors and made some recommendations. The drive from the Barcelona cruise port took longer than estimated due to some rental car problems.... More
