We camped at the Halfway House as a stop on a charity bike ride from Lands End to John O'Groats. Peter, the landlord could not do enough to help us and gave us a reduction in the cost of food and accommodation. As the riders were expected to arrive quite late he left the heating in the shower block on... More

Stayed here for the Bank holiday weekend as we had a family wedding in the area. We stayed in the Coach Cottage with our 2 little one's and my mum. Lovely clean cottage, there were even towels and toiletries provided as well as tea, coffee and sugar etc. The landlord Peter couldn't have done more for us, very helpful, even... More

Had a lovely meal here. Great steak and homemade wedges. Wife had home made pie and enjoyed it too. We were told on arrival that would be a 45 minute wait due to being Very busy but enjoyed a few drinks beforehand. Only negative was the staff didn't seem to smile and remained expressionless. Shame as everything else was great

We stayed with two children (7 & 9) and a dog. The food was locally sourced and the rib eye was one of the best I've tasted. Beautifully cooked. Nothing was too much trouble and the children had tailor-made meals. It was also okay for them to just share what was on the adult plates. Beautiful surroundings, real ales and... More

We stayed here last Easter (2012) and it was an awful experience! We have stayed in a lot of bed and breakfasts, all over the country, and by far this was the worse. The room was dirty as was where we ate breakfast! We booked a family room, however, when we arrived we were a bed short which initially wasn't... More

Bed excruciatingly uncomfortable - hard. The central heating and toilet fan noisy and the fan wouldn't turn off. Not very clean. It seems that the emphasis was on cramming the beds in to the expense of guests comfort. TV like a postage stamp, shower a dribble and no heating in the toilet. The breakfast was very nice and the beer... More

We were on a hen weekend here. Having all travelled from far & wide we arrived to the cramped accommodation, which despite having no lounge between the two adjacent cottages was ok. The issues were the unwelcoming host & I'm sorry to say the food. There was 8 of us & have to say the food left most of the... More

I have recently just finished working at Ironbridge power station and during my time working there I have been staying at the Halfway House Inn. I can honestly say that it has been one of the nicest places I have stayed, and I work away a lot staying in many different hotels and B&Bs. Peter the landlord and his staff... More
