Me and my friend were staying at the glencoe mountain centre so we walked down to the kingshouse for food and beer, i was not dissapointed , had a good atmosphere , and the food was good i had the venison casserole, we met other walkers there who stayed the night and said it was great

We stayed at the hotel for one night at the end of April after it was recommended by friends. The hotel is in a great location and is a very hospitable place to stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We had a very good evening meal and breakfast the following morning. The staff were very helpful and hospitable and... More

We camped over the bridge on the west highland wAy and after walking from Tyndrum was ready for a well earned beer and some food! The food was typical pub food and the atmosphere was good - it's mainly walkers and climbers who eat/drink here and it's a good place to share stories of the day. The views are amazing... More

I stayed here whilst walking some of the West Highland way. My first time in Scotland and the walk into Kings house is amazing. I never knew you could make brown such a spectacular colour and the mountains are awesome. On arriving at the Kings house hotel I spotted a deer, The deer had me transfixed but somebody who had... En route from Glasgow to Ballachulish (including taking in the wonderful Glen Etive road), it suited the three of us to try a first visit to the Kingshouse for a light lunch. On a glorious day, plenty of customers were enjoying their pints at the outside tables, but we stayed inside for our meals. On arriving, we saw no Staff... More

On completing our leg from Inveroran this was a superbly located hotel overseen by the majestic Buchaile etive mor. Our room was very comfortable, clean with a welcome bath and shower. We enjoyed our evening meal in the pub as well our breakfast the next morning. The only blip which marred our otherwise excellent experience, was the aggressive and unhelpful... More

The hotel is very old and the rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly we stayed here for 1night while walking the west highland way. The food was very good I liked the fact that it not a modern hotel. The overall experience was excellent.

We stayed here for one night when walking the West Highland Way. Having read the mixed reviews about this hotel, we arrived expecting the worst, but were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Admittedly, the rooms do need upgraded and the en suite shower room was little more than a cupboard, but we slept comfortably and we knew that the accomodation... More

We only spent a night here having chosen to do just half of the WHW. It's well past it's best and could do with some updating but it was comfortable and the food wasn't bad at all. My tip to the owners is spend some money on refurbishment. Then it would be a really special experience.

My partner and I stayed here whilst walking the West Highland Way. Our room was in desperate need of refurbishment and could have done with a good clean - particularly the bathroom (there was urine on the lavatory seat, which had clearly not been cleaned at all). We slept badly due to poor sound insulation. The two positives were the... More
