We first stayed at Hotel Belvedere in 2005 and loved it! It was a no-brainier to decide to end our month of travel and stay in quiet Argegno and Hotel Belvedere where there are no crowds, friendly staff who speak several languages, bus and water taxi near their parking lot, and a lakeside restaurant with delicious meals and views!

We enjoyed a 5 night half board stay at the Villa Belvedere at the end of September. The location is wonderful. When we arrived we thought our room was a little jaded (as has been mentioned before) with elderly furniture, a very 'firm' bed and the first candlewick bedcover I have seen in many years but all this was forgotten... We did not stay there but had dinner there the 2 nights we were in that area. Food is fabulous. Most people staying in the hotel ate there. Everyone spoke to everyone else. I highly recommend this restaurant. Plus, they have free parking. Small place directly on the lake.

Argegno is a village - and not really geared up for tourists (unlike other towns on the lake) so there are none of the usual shops or galleries but it's lively with bars and pizzerias and of course the ferry stop which is perfectly located just along the lakeside from the Villa Belvedere. This is a lovely hotel in a lovely spot, and a fabulous view, but perhaps not a good idea when its very hot as the bedrooms do not have air conditioning. To be honest I was hesitating to write a review about this hotel because I want to keep this little secret for my own. I stayed there several times and I really love this familly hotel which has perfect terrasse and view looking over Lago di Como and the mountains.
