I have stayed at Castello di Tocchi numerous times over the last 10 years, on tours and individually with friends. The setting is a charming medieval hamlet overlooking amazing forestland. This castle is an authentic representation of what a typical country castle was in the late middle ages. We hoped for Romance, and what we found were stray cats in a dirty little village. Castello is not a "castle" at all, but an Italian shanty town lacking in charm and clean towels. Wow does not even begin to describe the wonderful experience. His Villa is on a hill overlooking Tuscany, down a little dirt road outside of Tocchi. We made our reservation a month or so ahead of time and were told we needed to wire transfer 25% of the cost to confirm the reservation and we did so about a week before our departure. Dear Sirs, we are terrible sorry but it’s a review that dates back to 2005 and this is a result of bad communication with the travel agency. We have no longer worked with this travel agency.
