The best hotel of my trip to France. An excellent service and a very good swimming pool, very original you prop with his dark blue soil. The people in addition deserves a visit for his beauty and his gasgronomía.

Great room with everything we needed and very comfortable, but the best part was definitely the restaurant. The food was simply delicious. Breakfast was great too. We would definitely go back here, if only to visit the beautiful village of Monpazier. This hotel is ideally located with parking.

I recently had the pleasure of staying here again. My first experience was so positive, it would have been hard to beat, but yet again, Marija and Arjan have outdone themselves! Since I was here last year, they have expanded the hotel to include new rooms as well as expand the dining room and I had the good fortune to... More

I was so looking forward to staying overnight at my favourite hotel and it was wonderful. We have eaten there several times but had never stayed. We were welcomed by the wonderful owners and shown to our rooms (the kids decided to come too!). Both rooms were large and overlooked the beautiful countryside, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were... More

We had 3 nights at this lovely, luxurious hotel and it was wonderful. There was parking at the back of the hotel, which was helpful. (Be careful not to park in front of the elderly gentleman's house out the front!)The hotel is inside the walls of the village and there are a number of cafes to eat at, although a... More

Monpazier itself, a perfectly preserved medieval bastide town, is well worth a visit itself, but our stay at this lovely refurbished chateau just outside the city walls was the jewel in the crown. The hosts could not have been more welcoming, warm and friendly (even coming to our aid when we mistakenly parked in front of an elderly gentleman's house... More

What a welcome home away from home. Our hosts, the Capelles, could not have been more gracious. We were travelling with three other couples, and we all agree that this hotel is a jewel. It was very clean and pretty -- light and bright. We all purchased the half-board (3-course dinner and breakfast) and were pleased with everything -- food,... More

The hotel is situated within the walls of the Medieval Village of Monpazier. It is therefore within a few minutes walk of all the village has to offer by day and night, and is a great base to explore the other medieval bastides and villages nearby, and the Dordogne valley. The exterior of the hotel is a beautiful chateau, but... More

When our children were younger we camped not far away and got to know and love Monpazier as a base for warm summer family holidays. We always thought Hotel Edward 1er looked splendid, and thought that one day we would return (without children!) for a stay. My wife's retirement seemed a good excuse; and we were not disappointed by our... More

You must visit this hotel if you are in this area. The hosts are so friendly and welcoming and will chat to you as if you are the only person that they have to deal with despite being such busy people. Their children are so charming and multi-lingual and they have a lovely labrador dog. The rooms are wonderful and... More
