The place is steeped in history, the owners are very friendly, the room is cozy, the breakfasts were simply out of this world and the jacuzzi was a great bonus as well. We were rejuvenated physically and mentally. Wishing we could stay longer... Lois, Bill and Simon: frome the depths of our hearts we want to say "Thank you very much!"

Wonderful hospitality. Lois and Bill were extremely helpful, as well as very cheerful. Delicious breakfasts, way better than other B & B’s that we have been to. Spotlessly clean, in a quiet location and a very charming house. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at Gables B&B. Lois and Bill were so friendly and welcoming and gave us many suggestions for restaurants and activities to enjoy in Collingwood and the surrounding area. Our room was spotless and the house and backyard are lovely. The breakfast/sitting room is beautifully furnished and a cozy spot to relax. The backyard is quiet and peaceful, and we enjoyed using the hot tub and having coffee on the deck. The thought and care that Lois puts into breakfast is exceptional! We enjoyed so many delicious treats, from the freshly baked pastries to the homemade ketchup. The food was far beyond our expectations! The location is ideal, a 10-15 minute drive to Collingwood and about a 10 minute drive to Creemore. We are looking forward to staying here again!

Bill and Lois (and Simon) are charming hosts; the B&B is beautiful; the rooms are quaint and comfortable (extremely lovely sheets and towels!); and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. We hope to be back very soon! MJ & Eric

This was our first Bed & Breakfast experience since moved to Canada and our super friendly hosts (Lois and Bill) set the bar very high at the lovely Victorian-style Gables Bed & Breakfast. Outstanding hospitality, fresh made, delicious breakfast and treats (even a little booklet gifted at the end of our stay with all the recipes!)...clean, cozy, comfortable rooms with a charming interior design. The location is perfect as well: very short drive to Blue Mountain, Wasaga Beach, and Collingwood town. We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to our next visit for a ski weekend or during the summer!

After reading all of the positive reviews about The Gables, I was excited to stay there! However, it fell short of my expectations. Don’t get me wrong, it was a pleasant enough stay. The room was clean and Lois and Bill were friendly and accommodating… but there were a few things that I felt I should share. My boyfriend and I had booked the Spring room to stay in. We looked at the pictures of the rooms and decided that was the one we’d most like to stay in based on the decor. We were actually given the Fall room (warning to anyone who sleeps on the left side of the bed: the ceiling is sloped and you may hit your head getting into bed) and when we brought it up, we were told that sometimes that has to be done due to scheduling… I understand that, but when I book a specific room, that’s the room I want. Another thing worth noting about the house is that it is old… it’s charming and nicely decorated, but the staircase leading to the bedrooms is starting to warp due to age, and needs replacing. It’s loud, you can feel the boards creaking under your feet, and it’s a bit tricky to get up and down without tripping. Additionally, I had seen reviews stating that there was a hot tub and fire pit outside… I’m not sure if it was COVID-19 related or not, but we weren’t able to use either of them, which was disappointing. Finally, one thing that was quite strange to me is that there was a list of instructions on the back of our bedroom door, and one of them was that we couldn’t eat in our room… this made it extremely awkward when we went to a nearby takeout restaurant past normal dinner hours, and had to find Bill and ask him where we could eat. When I’m on vacation, I expect to be able to eat in my room if I want to. We had to sit on the dimly lit back porch and eat quickly before we got devoured by bugs. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I was just glad to have a place to stay for the night that was clean and close to the beach, but I wouldn’t say that The Gables was overly special.…

Quite honestly one of the cosiest, welcoming and beautiful b&b's I've stayed at! I felt at home the entire time, and the owners are wonderful and attentive to all your needs, whatever they may be! The food is delicious, and the garden outback is the best spot for winding down. I will absolutely be coming back! Made our trip so much nicer.
