We stayed in this wonderful hotel in March and were very much impressed with staff, rooms, grounds and amenities. Our room was very large, spotless, with comfortable bed and bathroom with great amenities. The hotel used to be a hunting lodge for the Maharaja of Jodhpur, and the family still owns the property as well as the village. As a... More

This the only hotel in Narlai that is à typical village of Rajasthan. The hotel is in a Heritage palace. Well maintained and decorated. It has 2 parts, one is the old palace and one is à new building. We did not visit the old building but I think it is better to stay in the old part as you... More

We stayed for 3 nights in March and loved it! The hotel is located in a large village and once you have gone through the gates it really is like finding an oasis. The buildings and the small grounds are picturesque with flowers everywhere and the pool area is lovely. There are seats and loungers scattered around the grounds to... More

Though the beds were very comfortable, the rooms and bathrooms were old and in need of an overhaul. The property is very charming and full of character; however hanging all over its walls are old black and white photos of Indian Maharajas of the past, as Rawla Narlai uses to be a hunting lodge for them back in the days.... My comment is coloured by my room- which smelled very damp and fusty. I should have complained straightaway and didn't- so partly my fault. It is an interesting old fort with a roof-top restaurant and the food was good. We enjoyed the swimming pool and resting up, but it was difficult to get any service pool-side.

Our travel agent suggested we break up the long drives between cities in Rajastan with a stop in Narlai. It was a wonderful suggestion. The hotel is in a very small village, quite different from the larger cities and villages seen on the usual tour routes through India. The village is clean, the people friendly. There are no beggars or... More

Recently returned from Rajasthan. I was extremely fortunate to stay at Rawla Narlai. It had been recommended to me by Prince Richard Holkar. He said Rawla Narlai is 'very special'. The historic site, in Narlai village, is remote, private and secluded, in a lovely garden. I was fortunate to enjoy the Stepwell excursion/ evening, with a highly talented musician playing... More

This was probably the most luxurious hotel we stayed in in Rajasthan, apart from the chain 5 star hotels. The hotel is a converted fort and run by the family who have lived there for many hundreds of years. The service was fantastic. The swimming pool and sun beds were great. The village is very interesting to walk around as... More

I was really glad we stayed here on our way from Udaipur to Jodhpur. The journey both to and from Narlai was scenic and the village itself is very quiet and unspoilt. Local people are very friendly. You can walk about without constantly watching for motorbikes etc as in Udaipur. I wish I had booked more than one night here.... More
