I agree with most reviews that the prices are expensive, but the hotel rooms are clean and comfortable (beds with mosquito nets, which I found essential for myself) with simple but bathrooms. The main socialising happens in the restaurant area, where there are very friendly staff. The food is over-priced, but there is nothing to stop you from going down... More

Sadly it seems that the city folks from Medan like to spend their weekends on the opposite bank to the Eco Lodge. The result is incredibly loud music and karaoke into the small hours. No chance of sleep. The rooms were simple but fine for the purpose (we were off on a Jungle trek so not so important). The food... More

We stayed here for two nights at the start of our trip to Sumatra and had been booked in by our jungle trek guide, which was probably not the best move but we wanted the first part of our trip to be hassle free. This is the most expensive resort in Bukit Lawang and we had one of the most... More

It is a beautiful lodge with comfortable and clean cottages, but it is too expensive. Especially the restaurant (they add a 10% service fee to the bill). A lot of group travelers stay here, so it isn't the right place for individual travelers.

I paid 300,000 rupiah per night for one of the better rooms. Rooms are large and comfortable, but overpriced for Indonesia. Restaurant's food is decidedly mediocre and, again, overpriced. (A large water is 12,000 rupiah...you can walk two minutes across the bridge and get one for 5,000. A Sprite is 10,000 rupiah...you can walk across the bridge and get one... More

We sleeped here 2 nights during our stay. Hotel is located on the other side of the river once you arive to the village. The room was spaceous and nicely decorated, especialy the bath area was amazing. There are several room options you get what you pay. The hotel staf is friendly and professional. The restaurants food is very expensive... More

We really liked Bukit Lawang and the Eco Lodge offers great service and location. The rooms are like little houses in the jungle and you can wake up with monkeys. This is not a fancy hotel for high-end customer, you are in the jungle with the animals, this is the nature and it is very quiet. There are some nets... More

This place is the starting point for Rain Forest trekking to see different monkeys and hopefully orang utans. The rooms are basic with cold water, mosquito nets without holes and 24 hour electricity. The restaurant is adequate especially if you like eggs for breakfast. The staff are very helpful. The restaurant overlooks the river. Apart from the trekking there are other... More

First you have to pass the swinging bridge - be aware that the guys on the carpark do not work for the hotel, they will ask a dollar to take your bag over the small bridge. Then you arrive in this idyllic mini-jungle with monkeys, chicken, ..even scorpios in the restaurant! We stayed int he newly built lodges so in... More
