I am currently staying in the Sirikwa. I am staying in one of the VIP suites, which are large, spacious and have an airy feel to the place. The staff are attentive and service is with a smile. I was given a free even meal during my stay without additional cost. The pool area is exceptional and well kept. I... More

As the other reviews have stated, this place is working its way back up to a grand position. The poolside is pleasant and has wifi and there is a bar to the side of the pool for some quiet drinks. The terrace is just as nice though was busy with campaigining politicians.Had dinner in the restaurant which admittedly is in need of renovation... The restaurant outside has a Expresso Maschine! Wicked with real coffe in Kenya! The garden is beautiful and the pool is clean and great, however for some reason the owners think that a Dj playing loud music ripped from Youtube (poor quality) and several tv's turned on on different channels at the same time is great and good for business!... Returning to Eldoret after 4 months, greeted by a sparkling Sirikwa.Visited months ago and it was disastrous.Needless to say,a transformation is under way.New owners are renovating and refurbishing the hotel in stages. The clean freshly painted facade feels fresh and invigorating. The suites have been renovated and are quite superb. The grotty swimming has been rebuilt and is now a sparkling blue oasis. The lounge... I did not stay at this hotel so I can't comment on the conditions of the rooms. But I did have dinner at the pool bar on the huge outdoor patio. They did have a hamburger which is rare for Eldoret. The hotel lobby appeared clean and the security was clearly visible. I envision enjoying more meals on the patio... More

i stayed here on my first visit to Eldoret and was so disappointed. Threadbare carpet, old bedding, dull corridors. Right from the reception, nothing makes you want to stay there. The breakfast could be better. Overall the whole place needs a thorough facelift.

We have stayed at the Sirikwa many times, mainly because it was the only option in Eldoret that was safe. But with the new hotels - the Comfy and the Cicada, we will no longer ever stay at the Sirikwa! I'm sure in the 60's, it was a nice luxurious place, but absolutely nothing looks like it has been replaced... More

I come to this Hotel for stays of approx. 2 weeks, once or twice a year, since 1990. During all these years Sirikwa has always been seen as the best hotel of Eldoret. This was mainly due to the fact that it was the only, that it had a beautiful garden and a swimming pool. The hotel have been in... More

Very much a hotel of the kind that used to be common throughout east Africa. Now somewhat faded, although it has a reasonable smimming pool and the rooms are ok for a night or two. The food was certainly not to my taste. There was quite a long mix up with the bill on check ut which took a while... More

The Sirikwa is seen as the best hotel in Eldoret. This may be true, but it is only because there are no good options. The Sirikwa must have been nice circa 1966, but now the wall paper is peeling, floor tiles are coming up and the toilets leak. Nevertheless, it has some advantages: it is safe, secure and quiet. This... More
