You don't really have any other alternatives if you want to stay in Järvenpää, so Scandic it is. They made a face lift to rooms with new furniture, curtains etc, but that doesn't change the fact that hotel is ooold.

The Scandic wasn't outstanding but it certainly did the job. It is a modern, comfortable hotel with excellent facilities and friendly, helpful staff. We were just passing through for one night and for our purposes it was excellently placed just north of Helsinki. We had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and both were good.

The room was quite spacious, airy and bright. The bathroom had not been refurbished (like the rest of the room) and was very worn. We were three persons in the room, but only got two sets of towels. Not a big deal, but still. The walls are quite thin, so if you are unlucky, you might not get much sleep.... More
