Enjoyed our night here. Quiet, clean and comfortable.Our balcany had a great view of the surrounding town.The staff was very helpful. Breakfast was good as well, typical for the region.Good choice of bread.

Attended a friend's wedding, and stayed the night. The hotel has wonderful views, the room we stayed in was very basic, but clean and comfortable. Really enjoyed our break from the coast up above the little quaint village of Alte. The Hotel has a magnificent location onerlooking the Algarve. The pool and gardens make it a pleasant peaceful retreat. The restuarant and service is first class. The eving sunsets spectacular. We will return

If you are looking for a cheap place to crash, this may be your answer. On the down side, we did not at all enjoy the pillows and bed being quite rough/hard. We visit A Cataplana Restaurant, part of the Alte Hotel, a couple of times a month, sometimes for a meal and at other times for a light lunch. Located approx 1/2 mile outside Alte itself up long steep hill (NB: cyclists) - great views across Algarve to the coast. Rooms basic and rather dated but ok - nice little patio onto gardens. Restaurant adequate but more interesting and cheaper food to be had at cafe a ponte in the village. Recommended if you want to stay in Alte

We called in for lunch on 10th.November - no other choice being apparent. The resturant and bar were under-staffed and apparently overwhelmed by a mini-bus load of unhappy-looking tourists. We stayed for 2 nights incl. breakfast on a special rate that was so special in fact (as cheap as chips) that we expected to get no surprises, no extras, just basic bed & coffee.
