Oh dear, it's all gone very wrong now. We've been three times and it's never been hi end accommodation but it used to be friendly and comfortable but this time..... At least it's pretty cheap. Staff are pretty much all learning to speak English at the guests expense and really don't seem to care very much and are mainly found... More

Our son had booked our break as a Christmas present, so off we headed to the Portsonachan Hotel. As previous posts have highlighted, the location is a bit remote, and the outside of the main building is a bit tatty and tired looking, but a fresh coat of paint would smarten it up. We were travelling through the area and stopped to have coffee. The location and scenery were stunning and we thought it would be nice to see what the hotel had to offer for any future trips. However......... the young girl on reception who spoke limited English seemed very suprised by our request. After being shown into a room which seemed... More

We stayed at one of the loch side appartments for a two night break. We'd read some of the tripadvisor comments before we left and were a bit worried about what we were letting ourself in for. We needn't have worried. The staff at check in were friendly and welcoming and the appartment was clean and well fitted. It's not... More

The Lodge we stayed in was fantastic. Lovely place and would stay there again in a heartbeat. The Hotel on the other hand was a different matter. The staff seemed to be mainly foreign(polish mostly) and either did not seem to have a clue what they were doing or did not seem to care. The British staff we encountered at... More
