Having stayed here last night with friends, (we are all well seasoned travellers ) This must be the most underrated pub ( motel ) in the country. The staff were friendly and attentive. The pub food was excellent, beer good too. The rooms were very well equipped and spotless. It was so good we all had a job to believe... More

I stayed just one night while walking in the nearby Yorkshire Wolds. The Cresswell Arms is a village pub to which has been added an Italian style loggia behind which are several bedrooms (slightly incongruous in North Yorkshire but hey...). The price was reasonable, the room clean, spacious and suitably equipped, the breakfast very good and the staff friendly and... More

This is a hotel with rooms added on out the back for accommodation. Our room was one of the original above the hotel part of the building and an absolute delight to stay in. With so much room to move which is a luxury in Europe and England. Eating in the hotel was also wonderful with plenty on offer and... More

Took my Mum here for lunch today and was so glad I did - it was lovely. The menu is extensive and the prices very reasonable. I opted for homemade chicken liver pate which came with salad, plenty of granary toast and the nicest red onion chutney that I have ever had. (when I asked where it had come from... More

This lovely B&B is in the small village of Appleton le Street so you will need a car but its a lovely place to stay. The rooms are in a stable like buildings attached to the building with all the expected amenities. The last time I was here I took a walk over the fields behind. I have eaten in... More

We booked here to stay overnight whilst attending an event in nearby Malton. We were met in the bar and taken to our room. The rooms are located around a courtyard at the back of the property. It reminded me of a mexican hacienda but that was nothing like the surprise that we had on entering the room.......wall-to-wall Marilyn Monroe!... More

We stayed 1 night after cycling to Malton from Leeds on the Bank Holiday weekend. The room was spacious and comfy and the friendly welcoming staff/owners took care to lock up our precious bikes overnight. We had an excellent evening meal in the restaurant - the summer fruits crumble was especially yummy! The bar offers local beers and we gladly... More

We just returned from a great family get together weekend in Yorkshire - all 10 of us staying at the Cresswell Arms. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the food was delicious and the hotel spotless. The rooms are individually designed and very quiet. A great place in a central location.

10 of us went for a family weekend away and took over half the rooms. All were spotlessly clean and very nicely decorated, each in it's own style. Food in the pub was very nice, a good selection that was well cooked. Local beer had a great taste. It is in a good location to get to many local attractions,... More
