We were never meant to stay at Juma lodge. We originally booked Tupana lodge but on the morning we were picked up in Manaus we were told Tupana's generator was broken so we would be upgraded to Juma. Thanks to Juma for taking us in at short notice. We stayed 4 nights/5 days, although to describe it as such is... More

Dear Gooner88 Thank you very much for your great comment about our lodge. Good to know your thoughts and be sure that we will use them to improve our services. Our rates are based in our costs, which are high mainly because of our location far away the city. We also do have high costs with generator, but fortunately we... More

We stayed 3 nights in Juma Lodge. Had a lovely time. Good food , interesting activities and friendly staff made it even more enjoyable. 2 little monkeys are very entertaining but they enjoy young and pretty girls more than men. Only joking. Overall good experience.

We wanted an Amazon experience, and chose Juma as it promised remote location and wilderness experience. Transfer from Manaus was a good experience, but upon arrival, none of the promised activities happened, and we were left to ourselves for close to 5 hours. Our guide had 4 different groups to look after, and was clearly overworked and tired. He was... More

Dear Sverre Thank you for your comments. Most of our tourists prefer to rest right after lunch, because it is a bit hot. But we always put canoes at disposition for the ones that want to do some activities before the guided activities take place around 3 pm. To provide better rates, we put a guide with up to ten... You’re probably ticking off the Amazon from your bucket list, right? And wondering if a lodge or a cruise is going to do it better? For me, it really doesn’t matter which of those you choose as long as you’re committed to an authentic, engaged experience a little off the beaten...well, river... Juma Lodge for me is one of the... A unique 3 days in the heart of the worlds biggest rainforest. We were upgraded to a room with river view so cannot comment on the rooms that had no view and were adjoining. Room was on stilts so nice gentle swaying with fabulous river view. After reading tripadvisor I was expecting something primitive from some of the comments but... More

Hello Rubygertz Thank you very much for your comments! We really apreciated it! I am glad to tell you that we have now four bungalows with hot water and until the end of the year we will have all the twelve lake view bungalows with hot water, powered by a solar heating system. We had the best time here. From baby monkeys to trekking with Jungle Boy and holding crocs, catching and eating piranha it was worth the money. If I close my eyes I can still go back for a moment ;o) When we went it was raining cats and dogs and the whole of the amazon basin clay turned to a... More

Okay...warning, if you are bringing a young child, as we did with our two year old, be warned - the place is in stilts, so you have to have your child glued to you! Having said this, it is an amazing experience. We were picked up at 7:30am and taken to our first ferry, then boarded a combi van, and... More

Dear Tony Thank you very much for your great comments about the lodge! Very nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us! Elcio is really not with us anymore, but we have a new guide, Matheus, that is receiving a lot of praises. Joao, our experienced guide, is doing a good job in training him. Best Regards. More

We had a great time at Juma Lodge! Our guides, Juao and Paulo were FANTASTIC, they really customized our stay for us and went the extra mile. We stayed 4 nights at Juma, which I think was the perfect amount of time. We were able to fit in: piranha fishing, 2 hikes, 2 boat tours, a trip out to the... More
