Stayed here very recently with family and friends. The site is in a fantastic location, the view from the field we occupied (once the rain passed) was amazing!! We opted for electric hook up as well, which makes camping much easier, however at night they do have rather bright lights which illuminate the tent quite a lot. The on site... More

stopped in 2011, 2012 and may 2013.what a difference there appears to be now. gone are the old wardens, whom i believe were called jan and dave, both of which were so helpful and accommodating when we had a problem.dave was especially knowledgable in all things relating to caravan problems.nothing was too much trouble and when they were running the bar the... What a charming and attractive camp/caravan site this is. We have just had 2 nights over a wonderful bank holiday and loved staying - so much so that our kids have demanded we return later this year. The weather helped, but without good facilities we would be looking elsewhere for our next week end away. There are 2 shower blocks... More

We have just returned having spent 3 nights at this campsite. This campsite is fundamentally let down by 3 key issues: 1. Health and Safety - they cram the tents in with no thought to fire, we had 3 ft between our tent and the one next door! 2. The showers cubicles are tiny causing problems getting changes and drying... We have just spend 3 nights at Greenhills over the Bank Holiday. We were a large group with lots of kids and had a good area of the field together. The kids could play safely, enjoyed the football pitch and play area. However, we all had cold showers each day (didn't seem to matter what time it was!) and the... More

Stayed a couple of days with friends last week and the only thing that could have been better was the weather! There were 8 of us in total all adults in tents. The facilities are good, plenty of hot water clean bathrooms etc. but we didn't realise that if they class mid week as low season the on site bar... More

We loved this site which had immaculately kept toilets and showers at all times. The playground and shop were great and it was lovely to let the kids have some freedom. The pitches were a good size with the ability to park your car either next to your tent or nearby if your tent's a big one! Set in a... More

We stayed here midweek. Though it's in perfect location (walking distance to Bakewell and Ashford in the water, with lovely views around - especially if you're in Ashford View field), and has a nice little shop, bar ( with couple of nice, local real ales on hand pump) and more than adequate facilities - I would only recommend staying here... Nice green pitches, good facilities - a well-stocked shop, a bar, information, a good shower room, but cramped when busy, and quite noisy. Very close to lots of lovely little villages and things to do and see. The central location and cleanliness makes up for a lot. Stayed for 3 nights and was sad to leave.
