The bang for the buck is also off the charts by Japanese standards. Finally, Tyler is amazing - he is a fountain of knowledge and will help you with whatever request you have.   "Kamesei was exactly what we were looking for: somewhere simple, no frills and most importantly, genuine and traditional. Kaiseki dinner was amazing, plentiful; my parents were simply amazed by the spread. My wife and myself, with my 2 kids really did enjoyed the public baths there. Sulphur smell was..." strong but that only shows that the water was indeed coming from the said sources, and not simply heated water. I had the chance to go to the private outdoor bath in the evening and it was thoroughly enjoyable, complete with gusting winds and light drizzle. The bath was sheltered so it wasn't a problem for me. Tyler and Mary were very hospitable and did provide us with all they can (attraction suggestions, directions, routes, train/bus timings etc). Really appreciated their thoughts.
