  "Most of the comments here by others ring mostly true, but a bit too severe in their criticism. While the hotel is dated, its location is great; and the staff was universally pleasant, from the front desk check-in to check-out, the young women at the desk were efficient and helpful. Same at dinner ..."and breakfast. Parking is downstairs and very quick and easy to retrieve car and park in the small garage. It's quasi-valet, in that you must leave the car as they stack the cars, but it was never an issue and we got our car quicker than any hotel garage in the US could do. We had a room with a small seaview balcony, which also overlooked the pool, which was very nice. Access the the "beach" was through a staircase and small underpass, but the "beach" on the amazing lava rocks consists of a deck, so don't expect any sand!
