We stayed in an ocean view which is on the second floor, great view. I think ocean front is on the first floor with no view other than the pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful and all spoke English. You have to remember most everyone is on island time. The free breakfast in the morning was great and there was an option to buy additional items that also looked great. We went in June the off season and there was no one there. Get USD from the dutch side before heading to the french side. Lots of restaurants do 1:1 for USD/Euro and all the ATMs will give you Euros on the french side. Orient beach is a walkable distance but other than the restaurant in-hotel and the one across the street, there isn't much else around (a few hole in the wall places closer to the beach).
