  "Visited Arno and La Tropicale in April 2013 and had a wonderful time. My husband and I (we got married on the beach) wanted a "in the jungle" kind of resort and this is what we got. LOVED waking up to the howler monkey's outside our patio, something I will never forget. Arno and Alan were awesome an..."d very friendly and gave great recommendations on things to do, such as zip lining and deep sea fishing which we did both. Served a daily breakfast of fresh fruits, juices, coffee and toast. Didn't get a chance to try Arno's cooking, but heard it's excellent. Just a short walk down to the beautiful beach. Would love to go back someday, Costa Rica is a very beautiful place with beautiful people. " More >

  "Well sadly we just ended our second stay at La Tropicale with Arno and his wonderful staff. We wanted to stay longer but the rural mountains of Cartago called us home. We love the Playa Carrillo/Samara beaches. And having found Arno's secluded little retreat, where we now want to return and return, ..."makes it our home away from home here in Costa Rica. La Tropicale is not a 5 star hotel. It is uniquely different than anything we've found in the area and enjoyably different. So if you are into different than you'll be like us and want to comeback. It fits our budget but more importantly it fits "the need to have fun." Okay here are some random thoughts: It is pretty darn clean considering it's Costa Rica and a beach retreat--Lord the sand that I carried through the place. I am a vegan and so I like having the little outdoor kitchen for all my raw food needs. I do bring some items: sharp knife, cutting board, seal-able containers, large salad bowl.   "Casa Buena Vista is a little private piece of paradise just a short walk from a beautiful, coconut palm lined, deserted beach! Cinzia and Fiorenzo are a sweet Italian couple who welcomed us like old friends and truly did pamper us. The little casa is romantic, very clean and a very comfortable bed. ..."Cinzia had fresh flowers in our room every day! Cinzia made a delicious breakfast with fresh fruits, home made breads and muffins, served with her homemade marmalades that she served under their terrace. The yard is enchanting and perfectly manicured! We saw Howler Monkeys and McCaw Parrots from our little terrace. We only got to stay three nights and we didn’t want to leave! Pura Vida!!! " More >
