  "I stayed at the Altamont a year and a half ago and really liked it. I just stayed here again for four nights this time. I noticed certain upgrades in the room. The bathroom had new tile work, the large flat screen TV with lots of channels was good and the in-room safe with personal combination seeme..."d new too. I really enjoy the location since the Altamont is in a safe area and nearby to lots of things to see and do either by walking or a short taxi ride. The security at the gate is nice and once again, no problem with inviting local guests in for a visit. The breakfast was once again a nice bonus. This time I took advantage of the bar. They have a fun drink menu and my friend and I put the bar tender to work making them. All staff at the Altamont were friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend this moderately priced hotel to anyone visiting Kingston. " More >

  "The hotel is in the heart of the business district in new Kingston. I have a feeling this is also considered the heart for tourism, although it seemed quite dead to me. As there seems to be only 2 tourist sites anyway, and there are both nearby, then I guess it is central for tourists too. The hotel was very good, which was a pleasant surprise to us as we had paid more for a hotel in Montego Bay and it was quite poor. The staff are very professional and helpful and run a front desk well suited to a business standard hotel. We were helped with flight booking changes and other transport arrangements and were impressed with the professionalism. The decor was modern and stylish and the rooms very comfortable. It appears to have been refurbed recently and some of the workmanship in the bathrooms was a bit sloppy but overall it's really nice... " More >
