Our visit was mostly just to relax and unwind, and we found that we really enjoyed just being in the room, watching the activity in the harbor. It didn't hurt that one of the largest yachts in the world, the Serene, was moored a couple of bl..."ocks away. The area around the hotel is nice for wandering around, with many restaurants etc, and of course, if you want to go downtown the Seabus is a couple of blocks away. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and we rather enjoyed the window between the bathtub/shower combo and the room. The weather was great while we were there and we had the balcony door open most of the time, other than noises from the harbor, it seemed very quiet.   "ThistleDown House was our first stop to a 2 week holiday in Canada, BC. We could have picked a better place. Ruth 3 course breakfast is amazing. The rooms a charming and Rex is such a good host. We for sure set ourself a standard for the next 2 weeks in Canada. A almost impossible challenge."

  "I stayed here with my sister and dad, and this was our first time in Vancouver. We stayed in a room with a queen bed and sofabed, and it was right next to the lobby and courtyard area. It was pretty quiet. The queen bed was pretty comfortable, however, the sofabed had apparently seen better days. Th..."e location was perfect! It is in North Vancouver, so it is much less busy than downtown, yet downtown was only a few minute's drive across the Lion's Gate Bridge. No fee for parking at this hotel-loved that! We went to Lynn Canyon, Stanley Park, downtown and Lighthouse Park, and this hotel was a convenient central location for all of these attractions. (It's also close to the Capilano Suspension Bridge, even though we did not go there). There is a Denny's really close, if you are a Denny's fan. There are also some fast food restaurants nearby.
