Despite the fact that it is an incredibly ritzy place (and we felt a little bit out of our league!), there is absolutely nothing pretentious about the way the staff conduct themselves. They are humble and delightful as can be. One of our favorite experiences was breakfast every morning with Kamal. It was excellent food, a breathtaking view, and great conversation with him. When I think about this place, I think about how truly relaxed and at peace I was while staying there. It's purely magic and I can't wait to go back someday.   "We had a room with a spectacular view of Vesuvius across the sea from one side, and a stunning view of Monte Solaro from the other. We could not have asked for better views. The ensuite bathroom was also gorgeous--it looked recently done with all new white fittings, although perhaps not very well ..."planned, as the toilet was situated between the bath and bidet, leaving nowhere for the toilet paper. The maids just left the toilet roll on top of the towel on the edge of the bidet--not very elegant. The bedroom, however, wasn't quite up to the same standard as the newly-done bathroom. The bed and decor looked a bit dated. Staff were helpful and the breakfast buffet was fine, although the hot chocolate was awful. The location was fine--a short (walkable) distance from the centre of Capri Town, but this distance allowed the spectacular views unobscured by other buildings. A lovely place I would stay in again.   "We spent two nights here at the end of a 19-day Italian holiday and it was the best possible place to be! Antonino and Luigi are most gracious hosts, and the staff is exceptional. The hotel is off the main street, making it a peaceful haven at the end of the day. The food was wonderful, and Kamal..."'s smiling face at breakfast was warm and friendly. When it was time to go (reluctantly), our bags were taken down to the ferry, and we met Giovanni there after taking the funicular to the harbor. He stayed with us until we left, making sure that we got to the right place at the right time. I wish we could have just parked ourselves at the hotel for a few days; our room was spacious and tastefully decorated, and the balcony looking over the Med was delightful. We would definitely return, and hope to, someday. Will also spread the word.... Our hosts were most helpful with ideas of where to dine and what to see.
