  "This hotel is very handy to the train station for travellers arriving by train, although we had to walk along a narrow, winding and fairly busy road to reach the hotel. Reception staff were very friendly, welcoming and good with suggestions for activities. The hotel is some distance from the town..." but it is a pleasant walk for anyone who is reasonably able bodied. Our room was at the back of the hotel and overlooking the small garden. With a small balcony catching the spring sunshine it was also very quiet. The room and bathroom were functional and very clean. Our only complaint was that there was only one chair for a couple. Free bottled water was available in the room and also free snacks, hot drink station and water were available on the the ground floor.   "Stayed with wife for a long weekend early May , opened in March 13 so place was immaculate.Staff were very helpful . Plenty of ample car parking , breakfast was typical Italian - suited my wife ( who is Italian ) . Room was lovely and included a small veranda. Orta is approx 20 mins walk away , walk..."ing saves you the €2 per hour car parking charge if you park on the edge of Orta. The hotel is close to Orta railway station , I think you can get to Novara from here. We flew into Bergamo (Ryanair) , the drive takes ~ 2 hours when quiet , allow more time at rush hour .We'd definitely stay here again. " More >

  "Fontaine Bleue was one of the happiest discoveries of a recent trip. Spacious rooms, lovely location, excellent value and Otello, the innkeeper, is one of the nicest folks we met. I had never been in this part of Italy before. GO and enjoy it before others find it!!!"
