  "This is a very nice, tasteful, simple B&B in a historic Post House on Eckero, Aland Islands. There is a cafe which sells great pastries , chocolate and coffee and a B&B which does wonderful Scandinavian breakfasts with home made bread.There is agarden with a good childrens` play area. The breakfast..." room is very tastefully decorated; there is a sitting room and dining room and a simple kitchen if you want to cook for yourself- not a bad idea since the eating out options nearby are expensive or not great. Bedrooms are simple- single beds and being a historic building toilets are shared with showers and sauna in a separate building. However these inconveniences are minor ; the overall experience is of being warmly welcomed and made to feel at home by Mercedes and Peter. The Aland Islands are very pretty and make a delightful rural break between Stockholm and Helsinki . Go by Eckero line, Silja or Viking ferry . Hire a car or a bike . We loved it here. " More >

  "Lugn o Ro was indeed an excellent cozy guesthouse, but it had to close. The cafe is still there, and going strong - make sure you visit and take a box of Mercedes' pralines back home. The main building is now taken over by artists - there is a great gallery, artist residency and plenty of other art..." activities. The post and customs museum is also in the main building.
