  "All Hoteliers please take note! Go to the Alpha Hotel to see how it should really be done. Absolutely spotless. I watched the Maids clean everthing in sight, including the balconies. The food is something else. Totally first class, deserves 5 stars. The restaurant Manager should get a medal. ..."Nothing is too much trouble, in fact all staff were like that, going out of their way to be helpful. You had a sense of releif, knowing that should there be any type of problem at all, there would be someone there to help you, always with a smile, even at the end of a 14 hour shift. Assistance as Reception was excellent. We spoke to many couples who were returning for a a second time, and third and fourth! Our stay at the Alpha was one of the most pleasurable we have ever known, absolute bliss. Well done Hotel Alpha, all of you. We certainly recommend this Hotel. " More >

  "Had a great time staying at this hotel in May 2013. The public areas are fabulous, maintained to a high standard and very clean. The staff are friendly and obliging,(they opened the restaurant early for us on our departure day as we had an early pick up). The rooms were clean and adequate, although ..."I would agree with other reviews in that some of the bedrooms are in need of refurbishment. The hotel is a good 20 minute walk from the centre of Sorrento, but the hotel has a shuttle bus, and there is a railway station nearby,( only 1 euro into Sorrento).The food was fine, although sometimes the description on the menus did not match with what we were served. If in doubt ask the waiters what they would recommend. I did this a few times and always got an enjoyable meal. I would definetly return to this hotel " More >

Stayed in a 4 bed (2 bunks) dorm. It was very clean, had air conditioning & wifi that was good but sometimes was really s..."low & most of the time wifi didn't work in the room. Pool & bar were nice for relaxing but the restaurant food wasn't the best. Much better food available in town. The staff were very friendly & always had good advice for activities, day trips & tours. It was at least 10 minutes walk, more like 15 (mostly flat) from the station, so allow extra if you are trying to find it the first time. Sorrento is a good base to explore the region & much more affordable than Positano or Amalfi. I would stay at Florida again. " More >
