I went to Connemara with great expectations, and some worries that I may be disappointed. I liked everything: the location, of course, and the house itself with a lot of space, a lot of books and a lot of personality. The dog-friendly room was big, with a splendid view over the lake and on a rhododendron tree in full crimson blossom. It was also spotless clean, no smell of any previous dog-guests. One could almost consider getting a loan of a dog to have this particular room. And I could walk the dog out of the house through the back stairs, without having to parade him in front of other guests who may, or may not, enjoy the creature’s company. ... " More >

  "We were tourung the west and driving through Oughterard. We stopped for some lunch .Very impressed how clean the bar was its more a cafe/bistro than traditional pub. I had wonderful chowder and my partner had the fish and chips ,both scrummy.It was bucketing down outside so we asked to see a room . ..."We were very impressed for the price quoted 35 euro each including breakfast.So we booked in .
