Arrival is a little tricky if you are in a private vehicle as parking is almost nonexistent and congested. Valet parking is available, very courteous and efficient - at $29.50/day. Check in was a breeze even though I had left my wallet in the valet parked car (which they promptly retrieved for me!) I was accommodated in a Deluxe Spa Room the newer Southern Cross section of the hotel. The room was sparkling, very well appointed and very comfortable for my needs. Seeing our disappointment they upgraded us to another room with a view of the pool. Very unexpected, very kind we really appreciated it. Thanks Erin, greatly appreciated. My only negative is the indoor pool, which is in dire need of a facelift. I took my boys for a swim and walked straight out, it wasn't inviting at all. If I can recommend one safety improvement, it would be to put a lock on the inside of the door. My toddler boys escaped on a couple of occasions as they could open the door and wander out.
