  "We stayed at the Al Faris hotel in May of this year when the riots had started to take place. I cannot thank the owner enough who gave us a fantastic room that overlooked the ruins, advised us as to how and what to see. We were only staying overnight, and the day of our departure (which was a Frid..."ay), the owner drove us to one of the bus stations only for us to find that no buses were going to Damascus so he took us to another station and the bus was due to leave to about 2.5 hours. He asked if we wanted to go back to his hotel to wait but we said we were fine waiting at the bus station. He then said he would be back to check on us. He did come back, in time to tell us that our bus was waiting for us and to carry our rucksacks to the bus. He really did look after us, and being two females we were very grateful. The Al Faris Hotel as a hotel is clean and spacious and to be honest must be the best hotel in Palmyra if nothing else because of its location. Lovely breakfast of eggs,... " More >

  "I have been staying at this hotel a few times, and I like it very much. The manager, Mahran, is a hit - very freindly and he has a good sence of humor. Rooms are small, but some of them has a very nice view of the ruinas. Breakfast is OK. The staff will organize small excursions if necessary."
