  "The Lodge was difficult to find and even the sign at the entrance is ambiguous. However, its location is stunning; on the very edge of the forest which spreads out in front of it. Tocans and parrots fly overhead and humming birds swoosh around the lovely beautiful garden. The main house is charming ..."and the chalets have large rooms with comfortable beds and good showers, the furnishings are unexciting but there are little balconies which looks right into the forest. The gardens teems with birds of every sort and size. The butterflies flop by and tease the eye with colour and style. We had some splendid walks, some guided by Jose and some on our own. Given its remoteness and our lack of transport we ate all our meals at the lodge, this was no mistake as the food was really good - fresh ingredients and imaginative. The staff were lovely though good Spanish would have helped us. This is one of those places that my mind keeps returning to with delight. " More >

Take the turni..."ng to Santa Rita Arriba if you are driving, as the internet directions are very unclear and the hotel isn't signposted on the main roads. There is a road which doesn't appear on any map, that just happens to be an autopista, hopefully this will change, but it's very confusing without SATNAV. You also need to plan your time yourself, so that if you want local visits you need to be independent of the hotel, as they don't arrange trips.. " More >

  "I had read reviews and determined this was the place to stay. Expedia said it was sold out but I called them and this was NOT the case. Please give these wonderfull people a call chances are they will have room for you as they have been having problems with the online booking sites, we had the who..."le resort to ourselfs. The facility is not fancy but it is clean and neat. The staff is just wonderfull, we could not have asked for better people to take care of us. We had breakfast everyday and dinner the last night, Mrs Fina is like having your grandmother cooking for you. We should have had dinner every night it was quite special.
