  "I stayed at the Sheraton Birmingham for a union caucus. I picked the cheapest room in the hotel. Could somebody have upgraded it without my knowledge? I was there to work, and needed plenty of light, a good desk area and lots of electrical outlets in my room. That's what I got. There were at ..."least 8 free electrical outlets in the bedroom area alone. The desk area was broad, the perfect height for laptop use, and well-lighted. The bed was perfect, wonderfully comfortable. The bedding looked brand new. The duvet cover was embroidered white on white and it was spotless. In fact the whole room, including the bathroom, was spotless and attractive. It was also completely quiet. There was a huge convention going on, but inside the room it was as quiet as any hotel room I have ever used. I could hardly tell there was anyone else in the hotel.
