  "I stayed at Anhinga Lodge as part of a Caravan tour. The wildlife is absolutely amazing and the birds, howler monkeys and crabs *under the walkways in numerous holes) right outside my lodge were really something. I wished I had brought a tape recorder to record the amazing jungle noises too. All in ..."all, I am really glad I got the chance to stay here and I really enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch especially. I made a big mistake though in not bringing more clothing. I brought 3 shirts which I thought would be sufficient for 2 days but I should have brought about 8. You get sweaty in a flash and the clothes don't dry so you put back on wet clothing and very unpleasant. I made the best of it by taking about 5 showers a day including in the middle of the night, drawing the curtains, and drying off naked beneath the room fan. But the heat was tough and I was glad to leave. I prefer bar soap and there was none (also no shampoo). You might want to bring both from your previo... " More >

If asked, one of the workers was willing to cut open coconuts that you found for you to eat. The canal tour was one of the highlights of the trip as we enjoyed looking for the fascinating wildlife.
