  "This was the 4th time I stayed at this resort, all 4 times for work events that last 7-10 days each. Every thing is great: staff, rooms, convention rooms, food, pool, hot tub. The twenty/20 restaurant was excellent, too. Not so good? Only one robe in the double room (why?), the fact that they were ..."cutting the grass outside my window very early in the morning (doesn't help when you are jet lagged and only managed to go to bed at 5:30am), and that the only other place in walking distance is Legoland.   "Executive summary - what follows is very much an unbiased ringing endorsement to stay at this property if you want a relaxing, out of the way resort that is dropped in elegance (in a good way) in SoCal. It's not perfect (lots of kids on the weekend, noises pool, no hot water in showers, spotty house..."keeping during the week)...but overall the staff is EXTREMELY welcoming and helpful, polite and makes you feel special!! Pros: fully service, plenty of food options (even the convenience store for light snacks, etc) great adult pool, beautiful landscaping/property, generous standard room sizes Cons: main pool is crowded and noisy on the weekends. Think kids screening. Parking is $30/day with no alternative. Resort is secluded (can be a good thing, just know you won't be walking anywhere). Have to drive 10-15 mins to get back to freeway/civilization Overall, I would highly recommend this for a getaway type stay, when you don't mind staying put and paying Park Hyatt rates for food, drin...   "We exchanged our timeshare in Maui for a week into this property. Very large 2BR/2B condo, dining area, full, well equipped kitchen. Master BR with King, 2nd BR had a twin and a double bed, pullout couch in the LR. Beds were very comfortable. The unit had everything one could want. The furniture was..." a little worn, but I understand they are in the process of refurbishing the units. Sure could use some larger TV’s too. Although we did not have the view towards the ocean, we did not mind it as it was very windy plus it was only in the low 60s. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Be aware there is a resort fee. The complex is adjacent to the Flower Fields, very beautiful as long as you visit between March and early May to see the flowers in full bloom. It is across the street from LEGOLAND, which we did not visit. The resort has shuttle bus/van service to many different places, the beach, into Carlsbad, the Flower Fields, etc. There are two pools (adult and family) which were wonderf... " More >
