  "A group of friends and I traveled to Carmel Valley for a wedding, and instead of staying at a pricey resort/lodge, we rented out the Carmel River Retreat from its owner and fantastic hostess, Anne Yant. PROS: (+) There was more than enough space to accommodate the six of us--including one couple..." that crashed in the bedroom with private in-suite bathroom. (+) The location was a convenient 5-10 minute drive from everything, including all of the major wineries and resorts/lodges nearby. It was also nestled into a quiet, riverside neighborhood with beautiful gardens and backyard spaces. (+) Finally, Anne was an amazing hostess. She lit a fire for us upon our return home one evening, had fresh coffee made each morning and even offered to transport us to/from our wedding activities in case we had a glass of wine too many.
