Wonderful deck overlooking the mountains and lake with firepit tables to keep you warm on chilly evenings. The only thing I was u..."pset with is it was cold outside yet the night manager said the firepit tables were not hooked up yet. These kind of details are important I think....only takes a very short time to fill up a propane tank and connect it under the small table. Because of this....we opted for sitting inside, which was nice, but took away a little of that out of the ordinary feeling...sitting fireside looking at the mountains. Our room was very well kept and the bed extremely comfortable. Fantastic soaps, shampoos & lotions. The icing on the cake were the packets of wipes to take off your makeup....Amazing detail!!! The owners went out of their way to make sure this deal was honored and then some They genuinely cared about our upcoming stay - they haven't even met us yet. We arrived the first night and had such fun looking at the decor in our cabin. It was..." cozy, clean and just the right size for us. It was comfortable. Our cabin had a view of a canal and some animals, cows and horses. nearby. Our cabin had a nice trail right outside the back door. It was a nice trail to an awsome overlook of the lake. Really worth the time that we took for the walk. Gentlemen were fishing, with luck, in the canal also. How is that for convenience? After touring Grand Lake for the day, we had an awesome BBQ in the provided grill, with all the accessories too.   "We wanted a place we could get away with our dogs. The owners were very accommodating to our dogs. Our back door led out to a waterway that our dogs loved to swim in, wonderful walking trails, etc. Edie the owner always had a dog treat available for the four legged guests. As for the human acco..."mmodations we were very comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable. We cooked several meals during our two days and had everything we needed in the kitchen. We will be back to the Mountain Lakes Lodge. Hopefully our next visit the lakes will be fuller. It sure makes you think about conserving water in Colorado. Next time we plan on bringing our granddaughter to see the beautiful country and spot a moose. Mountain Lakes Lodge is a perfect spot for kids, cute playground and plenty of places to run around.
