I wouldn't pretend to call this a destination campground, but for those traveling north or south along I-,39 or east or west along I-80 its a great stop over campground. Everything was well mainta..."ined, clean and its easy to get into and out of with big rigs. There are several diesel fueling stations at the campground exit off I-80 which is always nice for fueling up before the next days adventure. All in all, I would recommend this campground as a great place to relax before heading down the road to your final destination. We camped here on two occasions (June 2nd and June 17th, 2013). I am convinced that those with negative reviews don't like to follow the rules! For those who want to enjoy a peaceful campground where the owners want everyone to enjoy themselves this is the place to go.   "We stayed 2 nights in early June (Sun-Mon), in the old lodge. Had an executive king room with a bay window, for which we got "golden years" pricing. It was quite spacious, although not in the bathroom. The shower stall was long (no tub), but the toilet & sink were sort of claustrophobic. Not eve..."n enough room for a towel bar. But the water pressure was good, and the charm of the rest of the room more than made up for the bathroom. It was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was quiet. It was really great to have the hotel, restaurant, and park all in the same place. There was an event on Sunday afternoon with a folksinger and wine tasting, which we enjoyed in between hikes. Breakfast at the lodge was excellent and good value, but I think the dinner menu could have had more vegetarian options. " More >
