  "This is a unique and scenic place to stay, with comfortable, well designed cabins and lots to do in the area. Great lake and mountain views in a relaxing setting. The hosts are terrific and very helpful. I would highly recommend it. Looking forward to the next visit."

  "My partner and I stayed for four nights at the Lunkers Lodge (which a friend told us was the best cabin). The Lunkers is the most private, and is filled with many amenities. For being "off the grid" and without electricity, you will be surprised how much you will be able to do without it. For exampl..."e, there is a propane stove, well pump and sink, propane fridge, and a bag that hangs up in the shower that you can fill with water (either heat up on the stove or solar). I can't even begin to describe the beauty of Spencer Pond and Little Spencer Mountain. Once you pass the Kokadjo store (very friendly people and great food), you travel via logging roads - which are in better shape than some of Maine's paved roads - for about 14 miles. Christy and Dana are very helpful and friendly, and will answer any questions you may have.   "We hit the weather window perfectly. 80 degrees the 1st week of May is impressive. This was my 4th or 5th stay and I brought along a friend who had never seen anything like this. He was thrilled, and said "It was everything I'd said it would be". This is an old friend who has lived in Florida for 30..." something years and he mentioned one night at our home in Greenfield, Mass that he always fantazied about spending a week in a cabin by a lake in the wildderness. Well, he was 100% satisfied. There was much work going on while we were there-significant repairs to cabins, dock repairs, road repairs, etc. The work crew could have build the pyramids the way they were going. While there our truck ran off the road and these 3 guys came down and towed us out. THat was very nice. Nothing was damaged and these men were most kind and gracious.
