  "Just returned from a week at the Ocean Bay. I cant understand why May is classed as out of season. We had 10 hours of uninterrupted sunshine and between 30-35 degs every day. Out of the 190 rooms only 10 were occupied, but all of the facilities were open. This meant that the 200m wide beach was empt..."y and so was the pool. The staff were so friendly and helpful despite many expecting to be laid off soon. Going for the B&B option worked well for us as we had fruit from the beach at lunchtime(150D/£3 fed us both) and ate out in the evening, either stopping local at Mr Bass or the Taj India, or trying the Ngala Lodge Hotel, Scalla or Jo Jo's on the strip. The service was always fantastic as was the food. We used a local guide working on the beach, Omar. Very knowledgeable, helpful and better value than the hotel services. The trip to the Fathala Wildlife Reserve in Senegal is well worth the trip. The Banjul to Bara ferry is an experience as was the Senegalese border. a day well spent an... " More >

The only down side is the food, breakfast is the usual but I wouldn't recommend any other food from the hotel. Go bed and breakfast and there are plenty of places surrounding to choose to eat and drink, especialy Taj and Calypso which are only a few minutes walk from the hotel. The holiday was great, a week was not enough and we wish we as still there now.
