The owners provide a great sitting area/deck with a gas fire for chilly evenings or mornings, and a common room where they offer a very satisfying continental breakfast-fruit, boiled eggs, muffins, juices, coffee, tea, bagels, cereal, all included in the very reasonable price.   "We try to stay at the Clarkson Inn whenever we are visiting our son at SUNY Potsdam. We will often travel there for concerts given by the Crane School of Music. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We are greeted with a 'Welcome' letter in our room because we have stayed there before. The be..."ds are comfortable and we like their 'quiet time' policy (I think it is from 9pm-7am). Rooms are large, clean with beautiful furniture (if you get a room on the river side, the view is very pretty). There is a breakfast for an extra charge, or there is a bagel shop across the street. Within walking distance are several places for lunch or dinner. Just a short drive to many more restaurants. They offer coffee/tea in the Lobby.
