We were all heartbroken when we heard that it burned down in 1997. So imagine our surprise when we drove through Chimney Rock fo..."r nostalgia sake and came across a beautiful new Esmeralda Inn! It is a beautiful rustic inn with great attention to recreating the former building, but with all the modern amenities. The inn keeper was welcoming and accommodating. The room was very comfortable. The grounds are gorgeous and lush, and, in spite of a steady rain, we enjoyed the warm, steamy hot tub that soothed our road weary backs. We took lots of pictures to share with the family, and plan to have another family reunion next year for what would have been their 70th wedding anniversary. " More >

  "Our first trip here was in February 2012 so it was not that busy at all. Only one downfall to that is the jacuzzi was not open. Other than that, ever meal we ate there was excellent. I enjoyed peaceful mornings on the rocking chairs on the porch with complimentary coffee. The general room is no bigg..."er than a bedroom but the common areas make it feel like home. I wouldn't suggest this as a place for kids but a couples getaway. Plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. Hiking, shopping, dining.
