  "We stayed at The Blue Water for 9 nights from end of April to part way through May 2013. The hotel is wonderful- the pool is great, there are plenty of loungers nearby, and you can see the beach from all of the rooms. Unfortunately we couldn't go in the sea as there was a very strong rip current so ..."it was unsafe. We ate in the main restaurant/buffet each night and the food was amazing. The staff were incredibly helpful. The array of food was great- each night was themed and there was something for everyone. We stayed in a deluxe room which was very comfy and had everything we needed. All the hotel staff were friendly and nothing was too much for them. We used our rep to book tours to Kandy and an overnight trip to Yala, and would recommend going to both of these places. The tour company was called Walker Tours.   "Memorable but not the best"
  "The Hotel is done up very well and rooms are spacious and modern. All rooms are beach facing. My husband and i visited in the month of April which was too hot and sea was rough. The best time to visit is until March i believe. So we could not enjoy the beach. The staff is friendly and services are ..."good. The spacious lawn lined up with coconut trees is a wonderful place to spend lazy mornings and evenings. The beach side is no pleasant though. There are stray dogs everywhere following you and scaring you. There are no recliners placed on the beach side by the hotel. Besides outsiders on the beach keep peeping into the hotel without any protests from the hotel staff, intruding into the privacy of the guests. " More >

  "We didn't initially book this hotel but were moved here after we found out that the hotel we had originally booked had the builders in fixing the swimming pool! I'm glad we did as it's a really lovely place. The location isn't amazing (down a track and over the railway line to get there!), but it's ..."smart, clean and modern and all the staff are so helpful and friendly. The choice and quality of the food was superb and the grounds were always kept beautifully tidy. The grounds are separated from the beach by a low wooden fence (it's a public beach) but there was a security guard on the two gates to make sure the "local traders" were kept out so you can relax in the grounds or by the pool without being pestered. The beach is a bit dirty with rubbish and so on and the sea is quite rough with undercurrents so no good for swimming. Quite a few stray dogs wandering about on the beach too.
