  "We stayed in Windmills hotel for a week in the second week in May. This was our first visit to the hotel but not our first visit to Jersey - we were very pleased with our choice and will definately return here on our next visit to Jersey. The room: we booked a standard garden view room - the roo..."m was very spacious and comfortable with a small (but more than adequate) bathroom. The room was much superior to the hotels in Jersey we previously stayed in (which included 2 four star hotels). My only regret is not booking a sea view room to take full advantage of the wonderful view. There was some "squeaky floorboard" noise from the upstairs rooms (we were on the 1st floor), but this did not disturb us at all - for anyone looking for complete quiet, this should be a consideration. The food: we didn't eat in the hotel at all apart from breakfast, as we were keen to try out the many restaurants that Jersey has to offer, so can't comment on the food.   "I keep in touch regularly with the tripadvisor reviews of the hotels that I have stayed at in Jersey. My/our first stay was in 1966 at the L'Horizon and I saw John Nettles there!!! Wow! Silly memory, but it is a memory that's lasted 40+years! Not sure what else happened in 1966 but I do remember ou..."r visit then quite well. Oh yes, it was our honeymoon! I'm sure there was something else that also happened that year! For many more years after 1966, I continued to visit the Island on business, when I mostly stayed at the Grand Hotel (wonderful). We then started to take regular holidays in Jersey as well, staying mostly at the L'Horizon which, frankly, whilst it may have its ups and downs, is a top class hotel - especially when you stay there regularly and any problems are mostly minor and quickly overcome.   "An excellent choice"
  "We recently returned from a most relaxing 3 day break in Jersey. We booked one of the newly refurbished rooms at La Place and were very impressed with every comfort met. Our room was at the end of the corridor (209) and overlooked the garden, very quiet. We had dinner twice in the lovely restaurant ..."and the breakfasts were very well cooked to order with plenty of choice from the buffet too. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and motivated and always helpful. The location was in lovely countryside but not too far to walk to St Aubin, though the road is rather busy. Plenty more choice of restaurants down there too. We also walked in to St Helier and to Corbiere and back via St Brelade along lovely quiet green lanes. The buses were also really easy to use but not that frequent. We took the bus up to Greve de Lecq and walked along the North coast too. We do hope to come back soon. Thank you, La Place. " More >
