  "Can't say enough good about the Lighthouse. Relaxed atmosphere. Really enjoyed our stay. It has the charm of an older waterfront inn, but has been very well maintained. Good Starbucks coffee in both regular and decaf was always available in the lobby. The food at the restaurant was good, and staff (..."Cinda?) took great care of us despite it being a busy night. Our room was nice and well appointed. The beds were so comfortable that I pulled the bottom sheet off to see if I could find a tag showing who the manufacturer was. The breakfast buffet was great and gave us a chance to plan the day without having to drive somewhere to find breakfast. As for the place having a distinct odor, it is kind of the smell of salt water, wood, and time. I like it. Reminds me that I am not in some sterile cookie-cutter chain hotel, but a place with history. Hope that they don't change that. Wish we could have stayed longer. " More >

  "Right off the bat, let me say that this is a wonderful Hampton Inn. We have stayed at a number of them and none others come close except for the one in Lakeway, Tx. This Hampton Inn in Rockport is truly excellent. To a person, the staff is outstanding, friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and i..."n good repair. All the comforts are here. The breakfast was unusually good and the common areas for this lobby area are very, very nice. What a large, outstanding aquarium wall! Also a nice pool and exercise room, as well as a Hilton convenience store downstairs for purchasing snacks and refreshments. Guest clothes washers are on each floor. My favorite: great pillows, sheets, fresh duvet cover, and towels. If this facility could provide a good view and perhaps a nice full-time restaurant with room service, I would certainly give it five stars. This was a fine two-night stay. " More >
