  "We had no clue where to stay on Chincoteague, and picked out the Waterside online. It turned out to be the only hotel we saw that wasn't either a chain or too B&B for us. All the rooms look out on the ocean and a pleasant stretch of unspoiled shore where ducks and terns abound. The rates are reas..."onable, the staff are very nice and helpful, wifi is included, and thanks to the good bed and quiet, we slept like logs. (Of course, we stayed in early May when the hotel wasn't busy.) They offer a complimentary breakfast, but we'd already fallen for the insanely good eggs and grits at Bill's, down the road. We had a great dinner both there and at Don's, which offers the best crab salad I've had. We got lucky again with gorgeous weather for a long walk on Assateague beach, and then along the Woods Trail where we did indeed encounter ten wild ponies.
