  "The Dolphin Bay is a clean, comfortable apartment style hotel in Hilo. We stayed with our two teens for two nights while we did a night lava hike and explored Mauna Kea. We moved over to the Kona side for our last night on the big island but really we would have been happy to stay put at Dolphin Ba..."y. There is a nice little kitchen which we did not use much except to store a few groceries in the fridge. Our room had two beds in the living room and a queen bed and a day bed in the bedroom. There was no AC - but large wall ,mounted fans that were vey efficient. My husband ranked the shower in his top 5 due to amazing water pressure. We never turned on the TV but Internet connection was excellent. The staff here was excellent as well. Every morning there was coffee at 5:30 and banana bread at 6:30 up by the front office.   "We had a very pleasant stay. The Inn was modern, clean and very comfortable. We were in the Lehua Room. Breakfast was delightfully refreshing. Fresh fruit, eggs cooked to order, hot macadamia nut waffles, fresh sweet breads, and more. We enjoyed a lovely mini hike (to see the Falls) on the grounds"

They were so accommodating and easy-going, we immediately felt right at home. Jami helped get us a taxi when we first arrived. The rates for the economy room which is small, but definitely sufficient, are comparable to a hostel, but this place is much nicer. This is the best location for accessing downtown Hilo. Fresh fruits every morning from their backyard garden, and Tim is a great resource of information for things to do on the island. I highly recommend a stay at the beautiful D&S.
